POSSIBLE APPLICATIONS : As an individual package, the rover has the potential to perform several remote applications. However, the hardware and programming which is instrumental in the working of the rover can be interfaced with several present day devices so as to increase their efficiency, performance and functions.

A few applications are listed as follows -

This collision avoidance system has many practical applications in real life besides serving as a research prototype. With particular design variations and required programming our project can be used for various everyday-life applications

  1. The system with more powerful and versatile sensors would form the basis of the unmanned vehicles of the future, which can be used in various industries for transporting equipment or material, etc from one location to another. E.g. In any hospital or in any assembly lines in industries.
  2. An automated unmanned crane or tractor with powerful microwave sensors can be designed and used to replace present day manned ones used extensively in industries and the agriculture sector.
  3. These unmanned vehicles would be imperative in dangerous situations, which form a potential threat to human beings like mining, study of volcanoes, etc.
  4. To maintain safe distances between other vehicles, the system can be used where it detects and automatically brakes the car.
  5. It can be used in implementation of Automated Highway system in which the car is automatically controlled and does not require any driver.
  6. With greater improvements, advanced versions of the system can be used in collision avoidance for unmanned aircraft and in unmanned underwater exploratory vehicles.
